A man was wounded in a shooting Friday night in the North Austin neighborhood on the West Side.

About 9:57 p.m., the 27-year-old was outside in the 5400 block of West North when he heard gunfire and realized he was shot in the shoulder, according to Chicago Police.

He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition, police said.
