A west suburban man has been charged with shooting another man during an argument Friday morning in North Lawndale on the West Side.

Darnell Halmon, 41, faces a felony count of aggravated battery with a firearm for the attack that happened about 11:15 a.m. in the 1600 block of South Ridgeway, according to Chicago Police.

Halmon got into a dispute with a 19-year-old man, pulled out a handgun and opened fire, police said. The younger man suffered two graze wounds to his calf and was treated and released at the scene.

Halmon, a Maywood resident, was arrested nearby shortly after the shooting, police said.

A judge on Sunday ordered him held on a $500,000 bond, according to the Cook County sheriff’s office. He is next due in court Friday.
