Travelers interested in enrolling in the Transportation Security Agency’s PreCheck program can now begin the process at Midway Airport.
A PreCheck enrollment center opened Monday in the baggage-claim area of the airport near lower level door one, according to the Chicago Department of Aviation.
To enroll in PreCheck, travelers must go to an enrollment center in person to begin the process. The Midway enrollment center will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, 2 to 7 p.m. Mondays with Tuesdays and 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1 to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Friday.
Being in the TSA PreCheck program allows you to go through an expedited lane at more than 15o airports, including O’Hare Airport, and to not have to take off your shoes, belts or light jackets or remove laptop computers from bags.
A passport or other documents to prove citizenship and identity is required, along with an $85 application fee by credit card, money order or certified check. Cash and personal checks are not accepted.
