A 14-year-old boy was injured in a Belmont Central neighborhood shooting late Sunday on the Northwest Side.

He and two other people were walking in the 5700 block of West Belden when a gunman opened fire about 10 p.m., according to Chicago Police.

The boy was shot in the hand and taken to West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park, where his condition was stabilized, police said. He was expected to be transferred to Lurie Children’s Hospital.

Detectives were questioning a person of interest in the shooting Monday morning, police said.
