A Palos Hills man won $250,000 in a scratch-off lottery ticket, the Illinois Lottery announced Friday.

Nasir Abobakr, 52, bought a $250,000 Tax Refund lottery ticket at the Oak Lawn Shell at 5601 W. 87th St. in Oak Lawn, according to the Illinois Lottery. $250,000 Tax Refund is a $5 ticket that offers $250,000 in prizes, including four top prizes of $250,000.

Oak Lawn Shell received $2,500, which is one percent of the prize, for selling the ticket, the Illinois Lottery said.

“This is much better than my tax refund!” he said when he turned in his winning ticket at the Lottery Prize Center in Chicago.
