Man shot in leg in South Shore

A man was shot in the leg Monday morning in the South Shore neighborhood.

The 21-year-old was in the 7800 block of South Essex at 10:26 a.m. when a gray vehicle approached and a male got out and fired shots, according to Chicago Police.

He was shot in the left leg, and was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where his condition stabilized, police said.

Police said the shooting appears to be gang-related.
