A man was struck by a Red Line train Sunday morning in the Loop.

The 21-year-old man was struck by a train at the Lake station at 188 N. State St. at 9:01 a.m., according to Chicago Police and CTA officials.

He was taken in critical condition to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, police said.

Red Line trains were rerouted to the elevated tracks for about half an hour, but resumed normal routing at 9:30 a.m., according to CTA spokeswoman Tammy Chase.
