A 14-year-old boy was accidentally shot by his friend in the Englewood neighborhood Tuesday night, police said.

The teen was walking shortly after 8 p.m. in the 600 block of West 61st Place when a friend he was with pulled out a gun to show him, police said. The gun then accidentally discharged and struck the teen in the lower right leg.

He was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital in good condition, police said.

No one was in custody Tuesday night as Area South detectives investigated.
