A 17-year-old boy was shot to death Saturday afternoon in south suburban Calumet City.

About 3:45 p.m., officers responding to a call of a person shot in the 600 block of Hirsch Avenue found Jason Griffin unresponsive with multiple gunshot wounds, Calumet City police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

He was pronounced dead at the scene at 4:25 p.m., authorities said. Griffin lived in the same block where the shooting happened.

Police did not have details on the circumstances of the shooting. Anyone with information should call detectives at (708) 868-2500.

Another person was shot in the same town less than an hour later.
