A 76-year-old Aurora woman was killed in a crash Sunday afternoon in west suburban Naperville.

A silver 2004 Infiniti J35 was turning left from eastbound North Aurora Road onto Route 59 at 4:45 p.m. when it was hit by a silver 2009 Lexus RX350 that was traveling west on Aurora Road, according to Naperville Police.

The impact caused the Lexus to hit a bronze 1990 Mercedes 300D, which was stopped at a red light on southbound Route 59, police said.

A passenger in the Infiniti, identified as 76-year-old Frances Courtney of Aurora, was taken to Edward Hospital in Naperville, where she died later Sunday evening, according to police and the DuPage County coroner’s office. Her preliminary cause of death was blunt-force injuries.

The driver of the Infiniti, 86-year-old James E. Courtney, was cited for disobeying a traffic control device, making an improper turn and operating an uninsured motor vehicle, police said.
