A 17-year-old boy and a 25-year-old man were each charged after police found a loaded handgun in a vehicle early Saturday in northwest suburban Elgin.

Police were investigating a suspicious person at 3:02 a.m. in the 1500 block of Dundee Avenue when they stopped a vehicle driven by a 17-year-old boy, police said. Police determined the driver was driving under the influence and he was arrested.
