A 73-year-old woman and her daughter were killed, and five other people were injured, in a crash Sunday afternoon near northwest suburban Bensenville.

Paulette Jones, 73; and her daughter were in a Nissan Altima heading west on Grand Avenue near Wilson Street about 2:35 p.m. when their car was hit head-on by a Mercury Grand Marquis that had crossed into oncoming traffic, according to the DuPage County sheriff’s office.

Jones, of Northlake, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the sheriff’s office.

Her daughter, 44-year-old Jennifer Jones, was taken to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, where she died at 5:46 p.m., according to the sheriff’s office and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Five people inside the Grand Marquis, including the 21-year-old male driver, were taken to Loyola, according to the sheriff’s office.

Two other vehicles were involved in the crash and some minor injuries were reported.
