A 40-year-old man was stabbed to death Saturday night in the Jefferson Park neighborhood on the Northwest Side.

Bartiomiej R. Barczyk was stabbed in the chest inside a building in the 5500 block of West Higgins by another male during an argument at 11:37 p.m., according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Barczyk, of the 1600 block of West Greenleaf, was taken to Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, where he was pronounced dead at 12:44 a.m. Sunday, according to the medical examiner’s office.

Police said the stabbing was domestic-related.

A suspect was taken into custody, but police said Monday afternoon the person had been released without being charged with a crime.
