A 53-year-old man who was fatally struck by a car more than a week ago in the Belmont Heights neighborhood on the Northwest Side has been identified.

Krzysztof Wlostowski was crossing the street about 12:30 a.m. on Aug. 28 when he was hit by a Honda going west in the 7900 block of West Belmont, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

The driver stopped and rendered aid to the man before paramedics arrived, police said.

Wlostowski was taken to Loyola University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 1:26 a.m., according to the medical examiner’s office. He lived in the 6500 block of West Belmont.

An autopsy found he died of multiple injuries after being struck by a car, and his death was ruled an accident, according to the medical examiner’s office.

The driver was issued citations for negligent driving and driving without a license, police said.
