A man was killed in a drive-by shooting Thursday morning in the South Side Auburn Gresham neighborhood, according to Chicago Police.

Eddie King, 27, was in the 8300 block of South Hamilton at 11:41 a.m. when a black vehicle approached and someone inside fired shots, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office and police.

He was shot multiple times and taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead at 12:21 p.m., authorities said. He lived in the 8300 block of South Elizabeth.

The vehicle took off south through the alley after the shooting.
