A man was fatally shot in the West Englewood neighborhood on the South Side.

At 8:54 p.m., a 30-year-old man was found unresponsive in a backyard in the 8900 block of South Hermitage, according to Chicago Police.

Nathaniel L. Edwards, of the 10600 block of South Aberdeen Street, was shot on the left side and taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead at 9:03 p.m., police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. An autopsy Sunday ruled his death a homicide.
