A married couple was found shot to death inside their home Tuesday evening in southwest suburban Burbank.

About 5:30 p.m., a relative found 62-year-old Susan Fritz and her 64-year-old husband Raymond Fritz dead at the house in the 8500 block of Laramie Avenue, according to Burbank police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

The man shot himself in the head and slit his wrists in a suicide, according to autopsy results released Wednesday. The woman’s manner of death is still under investigation.

Officers found the gun they think was used in the shooting nearby, and there were no signs of forced entry or “further foul play,” police said.

“While this is an ongoing investigation, there is no threat to the community or to the public,” police said.
