Masked robbers have struck four stores this month in the Bridgeport, Back of the Yards and Gage Park neighborhoods on the South Side.

Two male suspects wearing ski or surgical masks have been robbing small shops and cellphone stores, according to a community alert from Area Central detectives.

The robberies happened:

  • the evening of Oct. 1 in the 4800 block of South Wolcott;
  • the morning of Oct. 7 in the 700 block of West 31st Street;
  • the afternoon of Oct. 14 in the 700 block of West 35th Street; and
  • the afternoon of Oct. 14 in the 5100 block of South Kedzie.

The suspects are described as black males between 5-foot-8 and 6-foot-1, and 160-230 pounds with brown eyes and dark complexions, police said. One of the suspects might have a scar or tattoo on his face.
