Chicago Police are warning South Chicago residents of three similar cellphones robberies in the last month.

The suspect walks up to the victims, pulls out a handgun and steals their cellphones, according to the community alert from Area South detectives.

The robberies happened at:

  • 1:10 a.m. April 12 in the 8700 block of South Saginaw;
  • 1 a.m. April 22 in the 8600 block of South Saginaw; and
  • 11:53 p.m. April 22 in the 8700 block of South Colfax.

The suspect is described as a black male 16-20, 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-9 and 140-160 pounds, with light complexion and afro.
