A couple was found dead with gunshot wounds inside their home Wednesday morning in northwest suburban Bensenville.

Officers conducted a well-being check at 6:05 a.m. at the home in the 1300 block of West Indian Trail Drive, Police Chief Frank Kosman said.

Tanya Jenkins, 40, and her 54-year-old husband Michael Jenkins were found dead inside, authorities said.

Tanya Jenkins suffered multiple gunshot wounds, while Michael Jenkins died of a single gunshot wound, according to the DuPage County coroner’s office. Their manners of death are pending further investigation.

Kosman said the DuPage Major Crimes Task Force and the DuPage County state’s attorney’s office are assisting with the investigation.
