Police warn of armed robberies in South Shore

Police are warning residents of two armed robberies in the past month in the South Shore neighborhood.

The victims were approached by a male and robbed at gunpoint, according to a community alert from Chicago Police.

The robberies both happened in the 7800 block of South Saginaw Avenue about 10:30 p.m. on Aug. 23 and about 9:04 p.m. on Sept. 11, police said.

The suspect is described as a black male with a dark brown complexion, between the ages of 15 to 18 years old, about 5-foot-7 and 130 pounds, police said.
