Police are warning residents of a recent string of home burglaries in the Brainerd neighborhood on the South Side.

In seven incidents, someone broke a window on a rear door of a home, reached inside and unlocked the door, then stole property from within, according to a community alert from Chicago Police. In apartments, the burglars pried open the door or gates.

Residences in the 1500 block of West 91st Street were burglarized between 5:30 a.m. and 12 a.m. on May 9, May 14, May 23 and May 24, police said.

Additional burglaries happened:

–between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. May 1 in the 8800 block of South Hermitage;

–between 5 a.m. and 12 a.m. May 10 in the 9100 block of South Paulina; and

–between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. May 11 in the 1700 block of West 90th Place.
