Five business burglaries have been reported in the Loop so far this month, prompting a community alert from the police.

Four of the burglaries occurred within a week in the 100 block of West Van Buren: about 3:10 a.m. on Sept. 9; between 7 a.m. Sept. 12 and 4:30 a.m. Sept. 13; between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m. on Sept. 13; and about 3 a.m. on Sept. 13.

The most recent burglary occurred in the first block of North LaSalle between 8:40 a.m. and 11:20 p.m. Sunday, police said.

During daytime hours, the suspect forced open revolving doors or windows on the ground floor. After nightfall, they returned and took laptops, cameras, cellphones and other electronics, police said.
