Police warn of robberies in Douglas

Police are warning residents about a recent string of robberies in the Douglas neighborhood on the South Side.

In four incidents, three to four males surrounded victims on the sidewalk and demanded or forcibly removed property, according to a community alert from Chicago Police.

The robberies happened:

• about 11:05 a.m. Sept. 9 in the 3300 block of South King Drive;
• between 3:50 p.m. and 4:10 p.m. Sept. 13 in the 3300 block of South King Drive;
• about 12:50 p.m. Sept. 13 in the 3400 block of South King Drive; and
• between 7 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Sept. 16 in the 3300 block of South Calumet Avenue.

The suspects were described as black males, between 14 and 25 years old, standing between 5-foot-6 and 5-foot-11 and weighing between 90 and 190 pounds, police said.
