Police are warning residents of two recent robberies on the Near North Side neighborhood.

In both robberies, the victims were approached by a man on the street who demanded their personal property, according to a community alert from Chicago Police.

One robbery happened about 3 a.m. May 21 in the 700 block of North Orleans, while the other happened around 2 a.m. May 23 in the 200 block of West Institute, police said.

The suspect is described as a black man between 17-23 years old, average height and weight and wearing all dark clothing, police said.
