Police are warning South Side residents of robberies this month in the Douglas neighborhood.

In both robberies, two black men approached victims, showed a handgun, demanded their property and then drove away, according to a community alert from Chicago Police.

The robberies happened around 4:00 p.m. Oct. 3 in the 3500 block of South Dr. Martin Luther King Drive and about 6:30 a.m. Oct. 4 in the 3500 block of South Giles Avenue, police said.

The robbers are described as two 5-foot-8 black men between 23-25 years old weighing between 175 and 190 pounds, police said. The vehicle the men drove away in is blue with a white stripe and temporary license plates.
