A Highland Park woman has been charged with endangering the life of a child after leaving her 13-month-old baby in her vehicle while shopping in Northbrook on Sunday, when temperatures reached the 90s.

Allyson Poll, 40, now free on $1,500 bail, told police in the north suburb that she went in to a store in the 2700 block of Dundee Road for about 45 minutes Sunday and accidentally left the baby in her closed vehicle. When she returned, she heard the child crying and called 911, according to the police, who said the baby didn’t need to be hospitalized.
