Four people were injured when a minivan crashed into a semi truck Thursday afternoon on I-55 in southwest suburban Channahon.

The Kia minivan was driving behind the semi on I-55 northbound, just south of Arsenal Road, when it crashed into the semi’s trailer about 1:45 p.m., according to Illinois State Police.

The driver and three passengers in the minivan were taken to hospitals, police said. Their ages and conditions were not immediately known.

The right exit lane and ramp to Arsenal Road were temporarily closed, but had reopened to traffic as of about 3:45 p.m., police said.

ISP Crash Reconstruction Officers continue to investigate the cause of the wreck.
