McHenry County sheriff deputies found seven small bags of heroin hidden on a 32-year-old man after they conducted a traffic stop in Crystal Lake on Friday.

At 11:35 a.m., deputies noticed a 2006 black Cadillac weaving while driving northbound on Walkup Road near Woodstock Street and pulled over the vehicle, according to a statement from the McHenry County sheriff’s office.

Deputies discovered the driver, Jason L. Beaty, had a revoked license, authorities said. He was cited for a lane violation and arrested on a charge of driving with a revoked license.

While booking him, deputies and correctional officers found 7 small bags of heroin hidden on his body, a total of 0.7 grams worth $140. A field test confirmed the substance was heroin, according to authorities.

Beaty, of Wonder Lake, was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance, driving with a revoked license and a lane violation traffic citation, deputies said.

A judge ordered him held on a $20,000 bond and he is due in court at 9 a.m. on Oct. 12, according to authorities.
