A South Shore Line train struck a vehicle Wednesday morning in Michigan City, Indiana.

Westbound train No. 108 was stopped shortly after 6 a.m. after striking the vehicle, according to an alert on the Northern Indiana Commuter Transportation District’s website. Following trains on the South Shore Line, which runs between Chicago and South Bend, Ind., were also temporarily halted.

As of 7:16 a.m., westbound trains were moving again and running about an hour behind schedule, the NICTD said.

The Metra Electric District Line was honoring South Shore commuter tickets.

Additional details were not immediately available.
