A 32-year-old man from Chicago’s South Side was killed after a fight at a south suburban sports bar led to a shooting at a Harvey gas station early Friday.

Sometime after midnight, Darren Woods got into an argument with another person at Adrianna’s Sportsbar, 16300 Dixie Hwy. in Markham, according to Harvey city spokesman Sean Howard and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Woods left with two other people in a car and headed to the Shell gas station about a half-mile north at 15901 Dixie Hwy. in Harvey, authorities said.

Someone from the bar followed them to the station and opened fire, shooting Woods in the head, authorities said.

He was taken to Ingalls Memorial Hospital in Harvey, where he was pronounced dead at 4:54 a.m., authorities said. Woods lived in the 1500 block of West 82nd Street.

“This was not a random attack,” Howard said. “This stemmed from an incident at a club that has had some problems in the past.”

A 26-year-old man was shot dead outside Adrianna’s Sportsbar in March.
