One man was killed and another man, aboard a CTA bus, was wounded in a shooting Friday afternoon in the North Austin neighborhood on the West Side.

Jacory Jones, 20, was walking in the 1500 block of North Leclaire at 12:36 p.m. when someone walked up and fired shots, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Jones was shot in the neck and leg, and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 1:15 p.m., according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office. He lived in the 1800 block of North Luna.

A 57-year-old man riding a CTA bus was also struck, police said. He was shot in the back and was taken to Stroger Hospital in serious condition.
