Two women were shot and critically wounded Thursday afternoon in the Burnside neighborhood on the South Side.

The women, ages 19 and 41, were inside a home at 5:48 p.m. in the 600 block of East 92nd Place when multiple people outside fired shots into the building, according to Chicago Police.

The older woman was shot in the neck, while the younger woman suffered three gunshot wounds to the torso and one to the left leg, police said. They were taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where they were listed in critical condition.
