An Uber driver who was driving with a customer was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm and marijuana after a traffic stop Friday in Edgewater.

Chad Pilcher, 41, had a customer in his car when he was pulled over about 3:30 p.m. in the 1100 block of West Foster for driving without a seatbelt, according to Chicago Police.

When officers walked up, they smelled marijuana and then found a gun with a defaced serial number in the car, police allege.

Pilcher, of the 300 block of East 91st Street, faces two weapons charges and a count of marijuana possession, all felonies.

A judge set bond at $100,000 at a Sunday hearing, according to the Cook County sheriff’s office. Pilcher’s next court date is July 29.
