A 50-year-old woman was shot while sitting on the porch of a West Englewood neighborhood home Thursday night on the South Side.

She was outside in the 7000 block of South Throop when she heard shots just after 9 p.m. and realized she’d been hit in the abdomen, according to Chicago Police.

The woman was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where her condition was stabilized, police said.
