Woman fatally struck by car in hit-and-run in Waukegan

Police are looking for a vehicle and driver after a 23-year-old woman was fatally struck while walking along a road Friday morning in north suburban Waukegan.

Police were notified about 6 a.m. of a woman lying in the road near 10th and Dugdale, according to Waukegan police. Officers found the woman, who was taken by paramedics to Vista East Medical Center in Waukegan, where she was pronounced dead.

Traffic Division investigators said Reven Stevens was apparently walking northbound on Dugdale Road, just south of 10th Street when she was struck by a vehicle, police said.  She was found about 300 feet south of 10th on the east side of Dugdale.

It is believed the accident took place between 5:45-6:00 a.m.

Stevens had a last known address in the 2400 block of Dugdale Road, police said.

Police have no information on the vehicle that struck her, but canvassing the area for video footage.
