A woman was shot Wednesday night in the Grand Crossing neighborhood on the South Side.

The 28-year-old was shot in the back at least once about 7:50 p.m. by someone firing from a vehicle driving by in the 7300 block of South Dante, according to Chicago Police.

She was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in serious condition, police said.
