A woman was shot to death late Wednesday on the Near West Side.

About 10 p.m., 22-year-old Jamie Williams was riding in a vehicle in the 200 block of South Oakley when a black four-door Hyundai pulled up alongside, authorities said.

A male passenger then got out of the Hyundai and shot her multiple times in the chest before he ran away and the car sped off, according to Chicago Police.

Williams, of the 10600 block of South LaSalle, was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 10:19 p.m., the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. An autopsy Thursday ruled her death a homicide.
