Polls officially closed in Illinois at 7 p.m., with early exit polls showing a down to the wire race between Democratic presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders.

Early exit polls also show Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump heading towards a win in the popular vote.

Florida, Missouri, North Carolina and Ohio also held primaries on Tuesday.

CNN and the Associated Press declared Trump and Clinton the winners in Florida.

Prior to today’s votes, in the presidential race, Clinton was ahead with 1,235 delegates, and Sanders at 580. The number of delegates needed to get the nomination is 2,383. In the Republican race, Trump had 568 delegates and Ted Cruz has 370. Republicans need 1,237 delegates to get the nomination.
