Bears predictions: Week 7 at the Packers

The Chicago Sun-Times’ experts offer their picks for the Bears’ Week 7 matchup against the rival Packers on Thursday night.

RICK MORRISSEY

Packers, 21-10

The Packers are struggling, by their standards, but those struggles are amateur hour compared with the Bears’ woes. The loss to the Jaguars on Sunday was rock bottom. I think. Maybe Aaron Rodgers has other ideas. Season: 3-3

RICK TELANDER

Packers, 30-20

People, I am not purposely making bad picks. It’s just that I thought the Bears might win more than one game thus far. Silly me! The Packers? In Green Bay? With Aaron Rodgers? Anyone who picks the Bears to win this one is deranged. See you next week. Season: 1-5

ADAM L. JAHNS

Packers, 24-13

The Packers are coming off a bad loss to the Cowboys, and there is some finger-pointing going on. But the banged-up Bears still are in worse shape, and they’re coming off an even worse loss. Aaron Rodgers shakes off his rust and beats the Bears again. Season: 2-4

PATRICK FINLEY

Packers, 23-15

Thursday will mark the 12th time in the last 17 meetings of the NFL’s oldest rivalry that a game will be decided by eight points or fewer. Only the Texans and Jets average less than the Bears’ 1.7 offensive touchdowns per game; I’ve got them kicking five field goals. Season: 4-2

MARK POTASH

Packers, 23-17

Vic Fangio’s defense vs. an under-achieving Packers offense is actually a pretty good match-up here — the Bears won it with less last year at Lambeau Field. But injuries continue to take a toll on the Bears on both sides of the ball. Bears will be better than last week, but not good enough. Season: 3-3
