Leonard Floyd has already participated in the Bears’ rookie minicamp and OTAs, but he became official Friday, agreeing to a four-year contract.

Terms weren’t disclosed, but Giants tackle Ereck Flowers, the ninth pick last season, signed a four-year, $14.4 million contract while acting as his own agent.

Teams have a fifth-year option on first-round picks they can enact the offseason before their fourth year.

Floyd recorded 17 sacks in three seasons at Georgia. The Bears traded a fourth-rounder to the Buccaneers to move up two spots, fearful the Giants would choose him 10th.

He is the eighth of nine Bears selections to sign, with only former Florida defensive end Jonathan Bullard remaining.

Floyd said earlier this month that he wasn’t concerned about getting his contract done.

“I don’t get into it,” he said. “I just let my agent deal with it and just play football.”

He has impressed thus far, earning plaudits from teammates.

“He’s quick, fast and instinctive,” linebacker Danny Trevathan said this week. “That’s what you want out here.”

Guard Kyle Long said that Floyd “covers anything with a heartbeat and he can rush the passer — so that’s a dynamic guy.”
