The Bears have signed veteran wide receiver/kick returner Marc Mariani to a one-year contract.

Mariani was signed last season primarily as a kick returner but made key contributions as a wide receiver after injuries forced him into action on offense. The 6-1, 187-pound Montana product had 22 receptions for 300 yards (13.6 yards per catch) and no touchdowns. Nineteen of his 22 receptions went for first downs.

Mariani, a Pro Bowl kick returner for the Titans as a rookie in 2010, also averaged 26.1 yards on 16 kick returns for the Bears last season, with a long return of 47 yards.
