Christian Otto boated a 49.25-inch muskie, one of the top ones caught this year in Illinois, while trolling Friday on the Chain O’Lakes.

Otto, a member of the Chicagoland Muskie Hunters chapter of Muskies Inc., caught it about 4 p.m. on a firetiger Bucher Depth Raider.

FOTW, the celebration of big fish and good stories, runs Wednesdays on the Sun-Times outdoors page. The story part matters as much as the big fish part, generally.
