Derrick Rose is playing Golden State by himself

Derrick Rose may frustrate Bulls fans, but there is one thing everyone can bank on – against another star point guard, Rose is going to bring his best. Unfortunately, his teammates aren’t doing the same.

With the Bulls and Warriors playing Wednesday night, Rose is having a game reminiscent of his 2011 season. But it’s all going in what appears to be a wasted effort, as the Bulls trail 63-44 at half.

Just as Rose got off to a 5-6 start, head coach Fred Hoiberg took him out of the game. With their only working offensive threat on the bench, things got ugly in a hurry.

While Rose sat, the Bulls fell to behind 34-18 at the end of the first quarter. The former MVP returned to the game to start the second quarter and continued his strong play, raising up to 16 points before being taken out once again.

Rose’s success came as he attacked the basket. He was able to repeatedly create separation from his defender and put up shots near the rim.

When Rose was taken out the second time, he walked almost immediately to the stationary bike. This is not the first time Rose has done this while out of a game. He would return just a few minutes later.

When the teams went to half, Rose had nearly half of the team’s points. He finished the first half with 21, the rest of the Bulls totaled 23. Bobby Portis was the only other player to have more than four points for the Bulls.
