Philadelphia Eagles safety Malcom Jenkins, cornerback Ron Brooks and defensive end Steven Means raised their right fists as the national anthem played before the Eagles faced the Bears at Soldier Field on Monday night.
As Jenkins said last week, the players wanted to express their solidarity with 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who said he’s kneeling during the anthem to protest social injustices.
Blackhawks anthem singer Jim Cornelison sang the anthem Monday night. Bears fans stood and cheered at Soldier Field as Hawks fans do out of tradition at the United Center.
