Ex-Packers G Josh Sitton to visit Bears, per report

Josh Sitton, the three-time Pro Bowl guard who was released by the Packers on Saturday, will visit the Bears first in his search for a new home, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Sitton, who was entering the last year of his deal and is 30 years old, might have been the most surprising cut Saturday. In eight years, he’s started 112 games, and is considered one of the game’s best at his position.

The Bears need help on the offensive line; Sitton would play guard, forcing rookie Cody Whitehair and veteran Ted Larsen to battle for the starting center position. Larsen moved to center from guard when Hroniss Grasu was lost for the season with a torn ACL suffered at “Family Fest.”
