Bears rookie receiver Kevin White and inside linebacker Jon Bostic didn’t participate in minicamp because of injuries, but coach John Fox expects that both players will be ready when training camp opens on July 29.

Fox spoke about both players after minicamp concluded at Halas Hall on Thursday. He sounded more convinced that White, who has been dealing with an undisclosed injury, will be ready by the time camp begins.

White, the Bears’ first overall pick in 2015, did take part in rookie minicamp and organized team activities before missing practices this week.

“I do [expect White to be ready],” Fox said. “I think part of the offseason is getting ready for the season. Any decision that we make is going to be with the player’s best interests in mind. It can be physically. It can be a variety of reasons. I feel good about where we are [with White], and I feel good about where we’ll be when we start camp.”

Bostic has attended the Bears’ offseason program, but he hasn’t been an active participant. He’s missed every practice because of a nagging back injury.

“He’s a guy that’s projected for that spot, yes,” Fox said of Bostic being ready for camp.
