Long, White, Fuller, Callahan questionable for Texans

Right guard Kyle Long (shoulder), wide receiver Kevin White (hamstring), cornerback Kyle Fuller (knee) and nickel back Bryce Callahan (groin) were among nine Bears players listed as questionable for Sunday’s regular-season opener against the Houston Texans at NRG Stadium.

Long missed the third preseason game with the shoulder injury but returned to practice on a limited basis. Fuller and Long both expect to play against the Texans.

White is more problematic because of the nature of his injury, which he apparently suffered Thursday in practice. Coach John Fox would not venture a guess as to how the injury would affect White if he played. He indicated White would be a game-time decision.

“I think everybody’s different. Some people deal with it different than others,” Fox said after practice Friday at Halas Hall. “Obviously that’s a muscle group that’s important, especially top-end running. We’ll kind of evaluate that as we get closer. We don’t have to make those decisions until [90 minutes] before kickoff and we probably won’t.”

The NFL has eliminated the “probable” designation from injury reports, so all nine player were listed as questionable. At last none were in the “doubtful” or “out” category. The others on the list included wide receivers Josh Bellamy (shoulder) and Deonte Thompson (knee/ankle), defensive lineman Cornelius Washington (ankle/knee), rookie safety Deon Bush (hamstring) and fullback Paul Lasike (wrist).
