The Bears continued their organized team activities Wednesday without Alshon Jeffery.
Jeffery continues to miss team activities because he and the Bears are talking about a contract extension. The receiver signed a franchise tender than will pay him $14.9 million next season, all but guaranteeing his participation in next month’s mandatory minicamp.
The two sides want to work out a long-term deal before the July 15 deadline.
Jeffery told the Bears he would not attend minicamp. Earlier this month, receivers coach Curtis Johnson said Jeffery vowed to him he would return.
“This thing is voluntary, not mandatory,” Johnson said. “And he said he guaranteed that he was going to be here when it comes around.”
