Vegas jumps on White Sox bandwagon

The White Sox’ 18-8 start has caught the attention of Major League Baseball. The oddsmakers are also taking notice of the Sox’ postseason prospects as well.

At 33-1 odds to win the World Series on Opening Day, the Sox are now 12-1 shots according to Bovada. The Cubs are the favorites at 5-1, followed by the New York Mets and Washington Nationals at 10-1.

The White Sox, Red Sox and Blue Jays are next at 12-1. The Sox open a three-game series against the Red Sox (15-10) at U.S. Cellular Field on Tuesday night.

Bovada has the White Sox favored to win the AL Central at 7-4 odds, a slight favorite over the defending World Series champion Royals at 2-1.

Both aces on each side of town are favored by Bovada to win the respective Cy Young Awards in their leagues. Jake Arrieta of the Cubs is the NL favorite at 3-2, and Sox ace Chris Sale is at 6-5. Jose Quintana is the third listing on the AL board at 8-1.
